Our job – pump new life into an 80-year-old, West Coast family-owned seafood business. After a thorough discovery exercise, we created a strategic position, new name and logo. Then we spent three days on the docks and fishing boats of the operation, shooting images, interviewing workers and generally immersing ourselves in mountains of squid before designing, writing and developing a new site.

Our Results

Rebranding a company with 80 years of history can be a challenge. But when Tomich Brothers Seafood came under new ownership, the buyers requested a new identity be shaped from the ground up. After diving through their brand portfolio and following their operations from San Pedro, CA to Astoria, OR, we gave the company new life as United Coast Seafoods, reflecting their commitment to quality catches along the Pacific.

The essence of the brand is the effort and emotion put in by everyone from the owner to the guys unloading the boats. Every day is a crazy mosaic of preparation, hustle, worry, hope, celebration, defeat. We created a website that put that passion front and center, with gorgeous photography taking visitors from the 3 am squid haul to packing and shipping the best of the catch to more than 40 locations around the world.
