Whetting Appetites With Some Grate PR
It’s such a simple concept, really: take a comfort food staple like macaroni and cheese and turn it on its head– err, elbows with drool-worthy flavor combinations. With only a handful of mac n cheese specialty restaurants nationally, it was a travesty that the concept hadn’t made its way to Milwaukee – that is, until Grate.
On May 16, we helped Grate with a public relations and digital push that got stomachs rumbling and people buzzing.
Grate is an upcoming fast casual restaurant that will specialize in craft (not Kraft) mac and cheese dishes made with locally sourced dairy products. Owned by Roaring Fork Restaurant Group, the largest Qdoba Mexican Eats franchisee in the country, the concept is a clear departure from its usual fare. But, as a first-of-its-kind in the Milwaukee area and, let’s be honest, the promise of piles of cheesy perfection, it was a story that deserved attention.
Our creative and development teams helped bring Grate’s story to life with an initial landing page while PR efforts garnered attention from major area news and lifestyle outlets, including Fox 6, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and OnMilwaukee – which was then shared hundreds of times across social platforms.
“We were overwhelmed by the coverage we received over the Grate announcement,” said Abby Hanson, Director of Marketing for Roaring Fork Restaurant Group. “This has been a great partnership so far and we could not be more pleased with the results. In fact, we’re looking to Zizzo Group for ongoing PR opportunities and upcoming events for our Qdoba franchises.”
It just goes to show that great people, great ideas, and great execution can lead to some really Grate things.
